The trial of Endrit Nika, accused of the murder of his Argentine citizen partner, Maria Clara Urdangaray, is nearing its conclusion.
In today's session, the prosecutor in the case, Armend Hamiti, presented his closing argument, requesting that the defendant be found guilty according to the indictment.
"Her story is not just a file, but a story of violence, control and personal tragedy. We know, unfortunately, that justice cannot bring her life back, but it can show that her life had value and that violence cannot be tolerated. Responsibility, honorable jury, has a name, Endrit Nika. Based on all the evidence administered during the trial, based on the defendant's own statement, based on the experts and carefully assessing the aggravating and mitigating circumstances, if the court considers that such exist, the Prosecution requests that the defendant Endrit Nika be found guilty according to the indictment for causing the death of Maria Clara Urdangaray and that the punishment provided for by law be imposed on him," he said.
