The Basic Public Prosecution Office in Skopje has initiated proceedings against a 39-year-old citizen of Kosovo, due to the well-founded suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of "aggravated theft", as well as an attempt to commit the same offense.
According to the Prosecution, on April 11, the suspect, using an axe (tesla), broke the glass of the entrance door of a tobacconist's market in Skopje. After entering, he searched the premises and stole cash from the daily turnover, alcoholic beverages, cigarettes and other products, with a total value of 52.900 denars. After the theft, he fled the scene on a bicycle.
On April 18, the same person attempted to enter the same facility again in the same manner, but was noticed by passersby and employees, who reported the case to the police.
The Prosecutor's Office informs that there are circumstances that indicate a risk of flight, especially due to the fact that the suspect has remained in the country without appearing. For this reason, a proposal for the imposition of a pre-trial detention measure has been submitted to the pre-trial judge.
