The Basic Prosecution Office in Pristina has issued a statement regarding the arrest of Durim Berisha, former advisor to acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti. The statement states that Berisha has been detained on suspicion of the crimes of "harassment" and "coercion", Gazeta Express reports.
The prosecution also stated that Berisha was involved in communication with the injured party, for which the prosecution has provided evidence.
"The prosecution emphasizes that this case is not related to claims or public denunciations made by the suspect, as reported in some media. These reports are based on statements by the suspect's defense attorney and do not correspond to the factual situation established up to this stage of the investigation by the competent authorities," the announcement states, among other things.

Pristina, May 2, 2026 – The Basic Prosecution Office in Pristina, respectively the General Department, informs the public that, by order of the acting prosecutor, a suspect with the initials DB has been detained for 48 hours.
According to the Prosecution, there is a well-founded suspicion that the same person has committed the criminal offenses of "Harassment", under Article 182, and "Coercion", under Article 328 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo. Based on the initial suspicions, the suspect has been directly involved in communication with the injured party, for which the Prosecution has provided relevant evidence that supports these suspicions.
The prosecution emphasizes that this case is not related to any public allegations or denunciations made by the suspect, as reported in some media outlets. These reports are based on statements by the suspect's defense attorney and do not correspond to the factual situation established by the competent authorities up to this stage of the investigation.
