Lana Turner's private life was as turbulent and dramatic as the roles she played on screen...

Born on February 8, 1921 in Idaho, as Julia Jean Turner, she came to life in a poor working-class family.

Her father was brutally murdered after a game of chance. Raised in difficult conditions, amidst deprivation, constant displacement, and painful experiences, Lana found some salvation in the illusory splendor of Los Angeles.

There, at the age of just 16, she was discovered by chance in a bar by an editor for the Hollywood Reporter. Within a short time, she became one of the brightest stars of the MGM studio, earning millions thanks to her seductive beauty and natural talent.

Her role as the femme fatale in the film noir “The Postman Always Rings Twice” (1946) transformed Lana Turner into an undisputed icon of eroticism on the big screen. With her silver hair, ivory skin, and breathtaking gaze, she not only captivated audiences but also put the era’s most famous co-stars to the test.

However, Lana Turner's private life was as turbulent and dramatic as her on-screen roles. She was married eight times and was involved in often turbulent and passionate relationships. The biggest scandal erupted in 1958, when her lover, gangster Johnny Stompanato, was stabbed to death by her 14-year-old daughter, Cheryl. Although the court found the girl innocent, describing the act as self-defense, that night remained shrouded in mystery, and doubts about what really happened have never been extinguished.

Lana Turner never broke. She continued to shine in successful roles, including the Oscar-nominated film “Peyton Place,” as well as “Imitation of Life.” She remained a complex figure, a woman who survived the challenges of Hollywood, always living in the delicate balance between fame and scandal. Turner died in 1995, at the age of 74, from cancer.
