The Kosovo Employment Agency has announced that starting this year, the monthly subsidy for youth employment has been increased within the framework of the Kosovo Generation Unlimited scheme.

At a time when many young people face difficulties entering the labor market, good news has come from the Employment Agency, indicating that the employment subsidy is increasing from 170 to 300 euros.

The agency has announced that from 2026, the monthly subsidy for youth employment has been increased within the framework of the Kosovo Generation Unlimited scheme, a program that aims to facilitate the entry of young people into the labor market through subsidized internships and cooperation with the private sector.

This scheme, which is implemented by the Government of Kosovo in cooperation with UNICEF and the German-Kosovar Chamber of Commerce (OEGJK), will provide greater financial support to businesses that accept young people into jobs or internship programs.

According to the official announcement, the monthly subsidy amount has been increased from 170 euros to 300 euros, a significant change that aims to further motivate companies to create jobs for young people and help young people gain their first professional experience.

"From this year, the Kosovo Generation Unlimited scheme, implemented by the Government of Kosovo in cooperation with UNICEF and OEGJK, increases the monthly subsidy for internships from €170 to €300. More support for businesses. More motivation for youth employment. More real impact on the labor market," the announcement states.

The Employment Agency emphasizes that the increase in the subsidy is expected to have a direct impact on increasing youth employment, facilitating their inclusion in the labor market.

Young people interested in benefiting from this scheme are invited to visit the nearest employment office for information and application, while priority will be given to those who are looking for work for the first time.

The increase in the subsidy coincides with the increase in the minimum wage, which from January 1, 2026 has been set at 425 euros gross, while it is expected to reach 500 euros in the second phase of implementation during the summer.

According to the latest data from the Kosovo Agency of Statistics, the youth unemployment rate remains above 25 percent, while over 17 thousand young people are currently registered as active job seekers with the Employment Agency.
