No concealment of fuel reserves has been found, according to Market Inspectorate controls carried out over the past three to four days.

The Director of the Market Inspectorate, Vlatko Stojkoski, stated today that over 300 inspections have been carried out, while inspections have continued at some gas stations.

"It has not been established that there has been any concealment of fuel reserves, however, it has been observed that about 30 gas stations have used up their reserves, have stopped filling, but after one or two hours, maybe even four hours, after filling the tanks, they continue to fill with fuel. This has been the situation in these three or four days," declared Stojkoski, who today, together with the director of the Public Revenue Directorate, Elena Petrova, is participating in the event "Harmonization and fair competition go together."

Regarding the warnings about reducing VAT on fuel imports if the crisis lasts longer and how much this would cost the state, the director of the Public Revenue Directorate says that such assessments are made by the Government in cooperation with the relevant ministries.

"The Directorate of Public Revenue is an operational-executive body. These are assessments that the Government makes with the relevant ministries. Ultimately, whatever measures will be expressed through legal decisions or other acts, we will have to implement them. So, the question cannot be addressed to the Directorate of Public Revenue in this regard," Petrova declared.

The Market Inspectorate warns of inspections of traders due to the possibility of an increase in food prices. The Director of the Market Inspectorate expects traders to show social responsibility.

"As of today, a team will be formed, we are preparing an Operational Plan and there will be inspections of markets, distributors, importers and food producers, so that in the coming period we will strictly commit to this. I hope for reason among traders, considering that the world is also facing a global economic crisis, and I also expect their social responsibility. This Government has shown on many occasions that it is a partner with traders in terms of providing cheap loans, enabling fair and loyal competition, so that as Inspectors we can be on the ground and monitor gross profit margins," said Stojkoski.
