Albert Krasniqi from the Democracy Plus organization has cast doubt on whether the procedure for electing Nenad Rashiqi as Deputy Speaker of the Assembly was legal.
"When three rounds of voting are completed for all candidates proposed by the majority of deputies of the Serbian community, the procedure resumes for the remaining days within the 30-day deadline for the constitution of the Assembly. In this case, the majority of deputies of the Serbian community have not refused the right to propose the candidate, therefore the "lucky" mechanism could not be activated," he wrote on Facebook.
Krasniqi said that what happened today in practice is that the candidate for vice president was not proposed by the majority of deputies from the Serbian community, as expected, but by the majority deputies.
With 71 votes in favor, the deputies of the Kosovo Assembly elected Nenad Rašić as the Deputy Speaker of the Assembly from the Serbian community, after the nine deputies of the Serbian List did not secure the necessary votes.
Speaker of Parliament Dimal Basha declared the Assembly constituted and said that the procedure for electing Rashiq was regular. /Express/
