Renowned journalist Artan Hoxha has reacted with a strong post on social media after Albania's second consecutive draw in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, expressing his disappointment with the national team's coach, Sylvinho.
"Respect Silvinjo... Thank you very much for the surprise qualification to the European Championship Germany 2024," Hoxha writes at the beginning of the post, praising the historic success achieved against Poland and the Czech Republic in Tirana.
However, he harshly criticizes the coach for being relegated from League B to League C of the Nations League and for "wasting a golden generation of footballers" that he had at his disposal to attempt to qualify for the next World Cup.
Artan Hoxha describes the way Sylvinho managed the match with Latvia as a crucial mistake and accuses the coach of "persisting in the mistake to the point of stupidity", missing a historic opportunity to make the Albanians' dream of the 2026 World Cup a reality.
At the end of his post, the journalist does not spare irony about the high ticket prices at the "National Arena", ironically saying that in the next match with Latvia, tickets could go as high as 200 euros, and those who decide will play for themselves.
