Today, the initial hearing was held at the Basic Court in Pristina against Fatmir Sheholli, where the measure of detention is expected to be imposed.
Sheholli was arrested on October 9, 2025 by the Kosovo Police in close cooperation with the KIA and the prosecution on suspicion of being involved in espionage.
The Basic Court in Pristina will issue the decision.
Sheholli was arrested in the Pristina region by police investigators from the Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Serious Crimes of the Kosovo Police. He was initially detained for 48 hours and authorities raided his residence “with the aim of securing other material evidence.”
Acting Minister of Interior, Xhelal Sveçla, wrote about Sheholli's arrest on Thursday.
"I expect institutional treatment with great seriousness of this case, which constitutes one of the most serious acts against the security and constitutional order of the Republic of Kosovo," he said.
Fatmir Sheholli, officially a civil society representative from the Institute for the Advancement of Interethnic Relations, has been rumored in the media for his ties to Serbia. In the 90s, during the regime of Slobodan Milosevic, he worked in the Serbian State Security (UDB)./KP/
