The Kosovo Police, respectively the Directorate for the Investigation of War Crimes, announces that today in the village of Soqanica, Leposavic, it has arrested a male suspect, a Kosovo citizen of Serbian nationality, on suspicion of committing the crime of War Crimes Against the Civilian Population.
As the police announced, "the aforementioned suspect, based on the investigations conducted, is suspected of being a member of the Serbian MUP during the war in Kosovo, stationed at the Skenderaj Police Station, uniformed and armed, in March 1999 in Skenderaj, in complicity with other members, organized as a group, participating in a police-military operation, where they forcibly expelled civilians from their properties, beat, tortured, injured and deprived fifteen Albanian civilians of their lives, and disappeared sixteen other civilians in two locations in Skenderaj."
Regarding the case, the suspect was interviewed in the presence of a lawyer according to the authorization and, by decision of the prosecutor in the case, the suspect was assigned a 48-hour detention measure, the KP announced.
