The former head of Albania's National Intelligence Service in the early 90s, Irakli Koçollari, has stated that Serbia continues to maintain active and dangerous stances towards Kosovo, emphasizing that the "great state" mentality remains rooted in its politics and approach.
Speaking on the "Debat Plus" show, Koçollari said that official Belgrade's actions prove that Serbia still harbors hegemonic ambitions towards Kosovo, citing as an example the terrorist attack in Banjska, where a Kosovo Police officer was killed.
"In this sense, they are active and we must understand this well. They are accustomed to the ideas of the big state and the appetite for domination. They killed our policeman and still do not hand over the criminal, even though it is known that everything is filmed," Koçollari declared.
He added that Kosovo's institutions must be aware and determined to protect the country's sovereignty and security, emphasizing the importance of state preparedness in the face of any attempted aggression.
"We must be convinced and prepared to defend our country, Kosovo. There are devoted and worthy sons, patriots like few others, who know how to face with wisdom, professionalism and devotion any attempt at Serbian aggression," he said.
