KEK said that as a result of high temperatures, several dry herbs were caught on fire today.
The fire has been localized and the situation is under control.
KEK says there is no reason for concern.
“The Kosovo Energy Corporation (KEK) informs the public that there is no need for concern. Today, as a result of high atmospheric temperatures, some dry grasses have caught fire in some of the surfaces/separations at the “KosovaA” Power Plant. Such phenomena are common during the summer season and also occur in other countries with similar climatic conditions. The fire is being localized and the situation is fully under control. KEK’s professional firefighting teams are on the scene and are acting efficiently to manage and eliminate the fire. The Corporation assures the public that there is no risk to the facilities or operation of the Power Plant, and the situation is being treated with the utmost seriousness and professional commitment.”
