British actress Tamzin Outhwaite, best known for her role as Mel Healy in the soap opera “EastEnders,” has opened up about her private life and why she no longer dates men her own age. In an interview for HELLO magazine’s “Second Act” podcast, Tamzin admitted that friendship is more important to her now than romance and that in order to get back into a relationship, the partner needs to be younger.

Last year, Outhwaite ended a six-year relationship with director Tom Child, who was 6 years her junior. He was 20, she was 33 when they split. However, it seems she doesn't regret that choice, and still prefers this type of relationship.
In fact, I've never dated anyone my own age, let alone older. I feel like I'm 30, and when I see someone who looks like they're 40, I think, 'That's right,' and then I realize they're actually a lot younger than me.'
She added that "men in their fifties who really take care of themselves are rare. I haven't met one yet."
