The agreement between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the operator for the evacuation of citizens of the Republic of Macedonia from the Middle East was published on the public procurement system website yesterday.
This is a negotiated agreement without publishing a public procurement notice, reached with Avialog Dooel for the amount of 59,799,900 denars.
Previously, Minister Timco Mucunski said that citizens of the Republic of Macedonia would not be charged a fee for air transport for evacuation.
So far, a large portion of the citizens of the Republic of Macedonia who requested assistance to leave dangerous places have been evacuated.
Yesterday, the second group of citizens arrived at Skopje International Airport, who flew safely from Dubai and left the territory of the United Arab Emirates.
"Regarding the current situation in the Middle East, due to which a large number of citizens of the RMV are in countries under attack or at risk of further attacks by Iran, since the beginning of the conflict, a total of 473 citizens of the RMV have contacted the diplomatic and consular missions of the Republic of North Macedonia in Tel Aviv, Doha and Abu Dhabi and have requested evacuation, therefore the Embassies communicate every day with our citizens and collect data and requests for evacuation from the region, namely from Israel, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain, but currently there is no possibility of evacuation by air," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs says.
