The acting Minister of Infrastructure, Dimal Basha, has issued a clarification following the reactions to the abandonment of the Declaration of Independence in this Ministry.
The reactions came after former Vetëvendosje MP Adelina Grainca published a photo with Basha, where in the background the Declaration of Independence is seen left on the ground behind the couch.

But, Basha said that they are in the process of moving and settling into a new Ministry building and that they are currently operating under temporary conditions.
"Regarding the news about the location of the Declaration of Independence, I want to clarify for the public that we are currently in the process of transferring, organizing and inventorying the work spaces in the new Ministry building. The process of transferring and organizing the inventory is not handled by the Minister, but by the Logistics officials, because these are technical and operational issues of organization. So far, this environment is functioning in temporary conditions, with furniture transferred from the old building and with improvised organization."
Basha said it was reported "unfairly and biased".
"Part of the inventory and materials moved is the Declaration of Independence, which is "not a toss-up," as has been reported," but Basha adds that it was brought to the office from the old building and is waiting for logistics officials to hang it on the wall.
OVL-UCK reacted to this by saying that the photograph left behind the sofa is a "political statement" and that the Declaration of Independence was desecrated.
