President Vjosa Osmani received the chairman of the Initiative, Fatmir Limaj, in a meeting today at the Presidency.

The Presidency said that this meeting took place within the framework of consultations with parliamentary political entities on the constitution of the Kosovo Assembly.

"This meeting comes on the eve of the end of the constitutional deadline set by the Constitutional Court's Judgment in case KO124/25, which obliges MPs to constitute the Assembly within 30 days, specifically by July 26," the announcement states.

The Presidency said that Osmani emphasized at the meeting that "the implementation of this judgment is a clear constitutional obligation and emphasized the importance of all citizens' representatives acting in a spirit of cooperation and trust, with the aim of reaching a solution as soon as possible for the constitution of the Assembly, in the interest of citizens and the democratic functioning of the state."

Limaj's party has three seats in the Assembly, and for some time there has been talk of a possible collaboration with the leading party, Vetëvendosje.

An agreement between these two entities has been announced by Limaj's party colleague, Xhevahire Izmaku, who yesterday stated that Limaj and the leader of the Vetëvendosje Movement, Albin Kurti, will reach an agreement this weekend.

She denied that Nisma has given up its ambition for the post of speaker of parliament, a request by Nisma that has held hostage for some time a possible collaboration with Kurti's party, which refused to give this position that it has reserved for Albulena Haxhiu.

"No, absolutely, we are in that diagonal of the talks with the issue of Mr. Limaj being the head of the Assembly and we expect a positive epilogue of the talks at the weekend," said Izmaku. /Express/
