CEC spokesperson Valmir Elezi told Gazeta Express that the application period for voter registration outside Kosovo is continuing, which began on May 6 and will end today, May 17, 2026.

Based on the data, "from the beginning of this process until now (Sunday, May 17, 2026, 10:00, through the electronic platform http://diapsora.kqz-ks.org, 117,246 requests for registration have been received, of which 99,498 have been approved, while another 7,621 have been rejected and 10,059 are awaiting review," Elezi confirmed to Express.

"Out of 99,498 approved applications, 22,955 Kosovo citizens have registered to vote physically at diplomatic missions, 2,590 have registered to send a ballot package to the CEC mailbox in Kosovo and 73,953 have registered to send a ballot package to a mailbox outside Kosovo," he said.

"The countries with the largest number of registered voters are: Germany (49,102), Switzerland (23456), France (4,193), Sweden (3,750), Austria (3,165), United Kingdom (2,370), Italy (2,206), USA (2,070), Belgium (2,024), Slovenia (1,400), Slovenia (1,400), Norway (1,154) and Finland (1,010)," Elezi further provided details.

Voting at diplomatic missions will be organized on June 6, 2026, the day before election day in Kosovo. Voting begins at 07:00 and ends at 19:00, according to the local time of the respective country.

"Voting by mail will begin on May 25 and end on June 6, 2026. For this voting method, the CEC will notify in time the addresses of the mailboxes to which voters will be able to send the package with the ballot," concluded Elezi.
