The court has dismissed the charges brought against the leader of the Turkish Democratic Party of Kosovo (KDTP) and Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo, Fikrim Damka, deciding to completely discontinue the trial against him.
According to the court's decision, in the case initiated by the Special Prosecution of Kosovo for the criminal offense of "abuse of official duty", it was found that the allegations raised are not based on sufficient evidence.
The court reviewed the indictment prepared by the prosecution as part of the investigation into this case and concluded that there are no sufficient grounds to continue the criminal proceedings.
The decision published on February 16, 2026 states that the objections presented by Damka's lawyer, Artan Qerkini, as well as by the lawyer of the other defendant in this case, Besim Kamberaj, Burim Azemi, were accepted.
According to the court decision, the indictment of the Prosecutor's Office dated July 4, 2025, with number PPPS.nr.76/2023, was rejected by the court. Due to the lack of evidence, the entire criminal process against the accused was also discontinued.
The court document states that the charges brought against Damka have no legal basis, therefore the case has been closed without entering into a review of the merits of the case.
With this decision, the legal process against Damka is considered completed.
