The Alliance for Albanians has expressed concern about the situation at the Tetova Clinical Hospital, where, as they say, the job opening has failed, while the healthcare staff has not yet received their salaries since January.
"Information about numerous complaints regarding nepotism, bribery and corruption in the employment process is a serious alarm and evidence of a degraded system, where honest employment and the dignity of professionals are being trampled. When complaints are filed about a job that reach anti-corruption institutions, then we are dealing with a serious crisis of trust and a complete institutional failure."
According to the ASH, it is unacceptable that healthcare staff, who shoulder the burden of the public healthcare system, are left without salaries and in total uncertainty due to serious suspicions and blockages in procedures.
"Doctors, nurses and other healthcare personnel must not be victims of bargaining, party influence and corruption. The Alliance for Albanians demands that the competent institutions urgently investigate all claims and complaints submitted; that there be full transparency for the competition process; that healthcare staff immediately receive their back wages; and that any employment process in healthcare be based solely on merit, professionalism and the law." Tetovo and its citizens, the response continues, deserve a clean, functional and fair healthcare system, not an institution blocked by suspicions of corruption and mismanagement.
