Ozgur Gokce, the brother of famous Turkish chef Nusret Gokce, was arrested in Istanbul on April 27 on charges of facilitating the prostitution of minors.
According to the prosecution, the case is part of a wider prostitution investigation led by the Kucukcekmece General Prosecutor's Office, which deals with organized crime and terrorism.
The investigation began on January 30 with an operation against persons suspected of intermediation in prostitution and providing premises for this activity.
Authorities have stated that analysis of seized phones has uncovered additional evidence, including people acting as middlemen and bank accounts used to collect proceeds from prostitution.
Following these findings, another operation was conducted on April 17, where several people were arrested, while others were released with judicial measures.
Ozgur was officially detained on April 27 and then taken to court with an arrest warrant, on charges of facilitating child prostitution under the Turkish Penal Code.
He had previously been detained in another investigation into prostitution and drugs, but was released after denying charges of financial gain from brokering people.
