An "invasion" by Albanian twins is taking place in Italy this season.
Cristian Shpendi and Stiven Shpendi have both reached the 10-goal mark in Serie B this season, and apart from their looks, they also have almost identical statistics.
Cristian Shpendi has recorded 10 goals and 4 assists in 27 matches for Cesena, while his twin brother Stiven Shpendi has 10 goals and 1 assist in 26 appearances for Empoli.
Two Albanian twins scoring at the same rate in the same league is not something you see often, and both have quietly become very important parts of their teams' offensive department this season.
Cristian Shpendi grew up in the Cesena academy, with which he also excelled in previous seasons, when he scored 11 and 20 goals, respectively.
Meanwhile, Stiven also grew up in the Cesena academy, but in 2023 he moved to Empoli, first on loan, and then permanently in 2025 for 2.2 million euros.
Cesena is eighth in the Serie B table with 38 points, a position that sends them to the quarter-finals of the "play-off" for promotion to Serie A.
