The meeting of the regular Working Assembly of the Kosovo Table Tennis Federation (FPPK) did not end with a decision, following objections from some delegates regarding the agenda and accompanying materials.

Clash for reforms

During a year of governance, the Federation's leaders have attempted to stop practices of placing personal interests above those of the development of the sport, and have initiated the drafting/amendment of legal acts, the drafting of a 5-year Development Strategy for the advancement of Table Tennis to ensure reform and increased accountability at all levels of the Federation and their members.

This situation was exploited by former chairman Nehat Çitaku, who mobilized a certain group that, according to internal assessments, continues to place personal interests over the development of sports.

What is striking is that the objections have not had to do with the competition system, raising the quality of athletes, but mainly with reform decisions and the banning of old practices.

From debts to financial stabilization

When the federation's leadership was taken over in January 2024, the institution had an inherited debt of 77,995 euros.

During 2025, the federation organized two major international events – WTT Feeder Prishtina 2025 and WTT Youth Contender Prishtina 2025 – which were positively evaluated by the world and European federations as well as local authorities.

During 2025, the FPPK generated total revenues of 523,427.69 euros and, according to Federation sources, all inherited financial obligations were repaid.

Unclear future

The current situation shows that the federation still faces a clash between reforms and the old leadership mentality.

Without a willingness to change, it will be difficult to achieve sustainable results and narrow the gap with countries in the region and Europe. /Express newspaper
