Today, the Parliament approved amendments to the Law on Construction and the Law on Construction Land, proposed by the Ministry of Transport, with the aim of promoting economic development and improving services for citizens.
With the changes to the Law on Construction Land, for the first time a clear view of the entire linear infrastructure in the country will be enabled, such as optical cables, telecommunications networks, water supply and sewage systems, gas and oil networks.
It is envisaged that this infrastructure will be registered in the Register of Infrastructure Constructions at the Real Estate Cadastre Agency, with the aim of establishing greater order in underground infrastructure.
With the legal changes, municipalities will be able to dispose of construction land foreseen in urban plans for technological-industrial zones, which is expected to contribute to local economic development and the easier realization of investment plans of local companies.
Also, the Law on Construction Land has been harmonized with the Law on Urban Planning.
Regarding the changes to the Law on Construction, the conditions for regulating the ownership status of telecommunications companies' base stations are improved, with the aim of providing better quality and more efficient telecommunications services to citizens.
These changes also envisage improving the technical control process of first-category buildings, through the establishment of a more professional approach and higher quality standards.
