Five police officers were arrested for the criminal offense of "Murder by Negligence" in the case of the arrest of 27-year-old Agon Zejnullahu in Lipjan, who was suspected of attacking passersby with a car on "Haradin Bajrami" street in Lipjan.
The Basic Prosecution Office in Pristina, in a response to Gazeta Express, confirmed the arrest of the police officers, but refused to provide more details, saying that the integrity of the investigations could be damaged.
"I confirm that five police officers have been arrested for the criminal offense of "Murder by Negligence" under Article 175 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo. At the moment we cannot provide more details because we may damage the integrity of the investigations," the prosecution said in response.
The 27-year-old's death has already been classified as a suspicious death.
After a citizen's call, police units intervened and arrested him. During the intervention, he was handcuffed. Police report that despite the efforts of the medical team, the 27-year-old died at the scene.
