The Kosovo Volleyball Federation has reacted harshly to the decision of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) on the disciplinary case of KV Peja, calling it "scandalous, one-sided and contrary to every fundamental principle of sport."
Following the extraordinary meeting of the FVK Board, held on August 14, 2025, it is emphasized that this decision not only contradicts the spirit of sportsmanship and the principles of "fair play", but also constitutes a dangerous precedent, because it indirectly promotes violence in the sport of volleyball and in sport in general.
The Federation expresses great concern about the way the entire process has been handled, questioning its impartiality and integrity.
According to the FVK, the GJAS did not take into account the fundamental criteria for measuring punishment, clearly defined in Article 3 of the Disciplinary Regulation, which requires that punishments be based on the gravity of the violation and the consequences it entails.
Ignoring this article, according to the Federation, clearly shows that the decision was made without respecting basic standards of sports justice.
In its capacity as the institution responsible for the development and protection of volleyball in Kosovo, FVK announces that it will immediately take the necessary steps to request a full investigation of this process by the competent authorities, in order to clarify all suspicious elements and ensure justice.
In parallel, the Federation is awaiting the official reasoning of the decision and announces that it will use all legal means provided for appeal.
"Violence has no place in sport and no decision, no matter how high the authority that makes it, can justify or legitimize behavior that violates the safety, dignity and integrity of sports competition.. "
