The Premier League could increase the number of teams in the Champions League to 7 if certain combinations are achieved at the end of the season.
In particular, this can happen if:
an English team wins the Champions League without finishing in the Top 5,
and another if they win the Europa League, also outside the Top 5.
In this case, both would qualify automatically, without "taking" the championship spots, bringing the total number of English teams in the Champions League to seven.
