The leadership of the Democratic Party of Kosovo will meet today at 16:00 p.m. It will also be decided whether Fatmir Limaj – one of the main figures of this political entity – should be included in the list of candidates for deputies in the extraordinary parliamentary elections on June 7, Gazeta Express has learned.
Limaj is seeking to run in the elections with his former party. The party he leads, the Social Democratic Initiative, did not apply to be certified for the new elections, as competing alone in the December 28 primary elections, this political entity failed to pass the 5% electoral threshold.
Several members of the PDK Presidency have expressed their positions regarding Limaj's inclusion on the list.
The party's general secretary, Vlora Çitaku, said a few days ago on Frontal on T7 that "the issue of Mr. Limaj has not been discussed at all and I do not expect there to be a different epilogue than the one in the last elections."
Meanwhile, other officials, such as the mayor of Drenas, Ramiz Lladrovci, or the member of the Presidency, Mërgim Lushtaku, have expressed their support for Limaj's inclusion in the PDK's list of candidates for deputies.
Tomorrow at midnight, the deadline set by the Central Election Commission for political entities to submit lists of candidates for deputies ends.
