A Forest star is "close" to a deal with a new club, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Ange Postecoglou has taken on one of the toughest challenges in the Premier League and has brought several collaborators with him, but one of the new players is expected to leave before the former Tottenham manager takes up the job.

Nottingham Forest is no place for a manager looking for an easy life, and Postecoglou rarely takes it easy.

After being sacked by Tottenham Hotspur despite winning the Europa League, Postecoglou has accepted the challenge of working under Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis and global head of football Edu - the combination who this week replaced Nuno Espirito Santo.

Postecoglou added his trusted men Nick Montgomery and Mile Jedinak to Forest's staff on Thursday, ahead of the Premier League season resuming with a visit to north London against Arsenal on Saturday at midday.

However, one player is already on the way out, according to reports.

The summer transfer window has ended in most leagues, but clubs in Europe who want to sell players can still send players to the... Turkey, Greece, Serbia ose Saudi Arabia until the specified dates.

Jota Silva to Besiktas
The destination for Forest winger Jota Silva is Istanbul, where he will move to Besiktas.

Silva joined Forest from Vitoria Guimaraes last summer and made a modest impression at the City Ground, scoring all three of his Premier League goals in a four-game spell in the spring.

However, the Portuguese started just five league games in the 2024-25 season and has played just 12 minutes so far this season.

"Besiktas are closing in on a deal to sign Jota Silva from Nottingham Forest!" wrote transfer expert Fabrizio Romano on X (formerly Twitter).

"Loan agreement with option to buy that could turn into a commitment. The green light from [Forest] is close, then..." – you know the rest.

Besiktas active in the transfer market

The Istanbul club has not spared reinforcements in 2025.

Besiktas have brought in former Leicester midfielder Wilfred Ndidi, former Rangers loanee Vaclav Cerny, Portuguese midfielder Joao Mario and, on a temporary basis, English striker Tammy Abraham.

Right-back Ridvan Yilmaz has returned from Rangers, as Besiktas aim to close the gap on champions Galatasaray.

The Black and Whites, who have also been linked with Liverpool striker Federico Chiesa, finished fourth last season. /GazetaExpress/
