MEP Riho Terras, who is also the rapporteur for Kosovo in the European Parliament, has commented on the US decision to withdraw 5000 American troops from Germany.
He said that this troop withdrawal plan is not a disaster, but that the situation regarding the cancellation of the Tomahawk missiles is more serious.
"The plan to withdraw 5,000 US troops from Germany is not a disaster.
"Much more serious is the cancellation of the deployment of Tomahawk missiles. Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland should act TOGETHER and convince Donald Trump to use troops from Germany to strengthen the Suwałki Corridor," he wrote in X.
US President Donald Trump has said the US will withdraw 5,000 - and possibly many more - troops stationed in Germany, after German Chancellor Friedrich Merz criticized the way the US is handling the conflict with Iran, saying Tehran had "humiliated" Washington.
