Centcom says the blockade will be enforced "impartially against vessels of all nations entering or leaving Iranian ports and coastal areas."
It says this includes all Iranian ports in the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman, the BBC reported, Gazeta Express reports.
"CENTCOM forces will not impede freedom of navigation for vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz to and from non-Iranian ports," the military says.
She adds that more information will be provided to commercial operators through an official announcement before the start of the blockade.”
Earlier in a post on Truth Social, Donald Trump said the US would "begin the process of BLOCKING any ship attempting to enter or exit the Strait of Hormuz."
