After the third semi-final match of the "Play-off" between KB Trepça and KB Peja, which ended with a convincing victory for the Mitrovica team, attention has shifted from the court to the statements and controversies outside it.

The club has previously responded with a public post, emphasizing that basketball should be about more than results, calling it a culture that should be reflected by the athletes themselves on the court. According to them, in an already heated rivalry between the two cities, controlling fans has become increasingly difficult, but the main responsibility for behavior on the court remains with the players.

In their response, KB Peja thanked the leadership of KB Trepça for the hospitality, emphasizing that this has always been at the right level. However, the main criticism was directed at Trepça captain, Drilon Hajrizi, who is alleged to have exceeded the limits of professionalism with his behavior and reactions during and after the match.

According to the former club, Hajrizi used unacceptable offensive language, directed not at the public, but at their bank and team, raising questions about the example set by a player of his level. They add that such behavior risks inciting tension and hatred in an already sensitive rivalry.

On the other hand, Drilon Hajrizi's reaction was not delayed. He categorically denied that he had insulted the Peja team or players, explaining that his reaction was directed only at an individual from the audience, in a sign of revolt for the continuous insults that, according to him, were orchestrated against him during the match in Peja.

Hajrizi stressed that his contribution to Peja has been great over the years and that the old fans are witnesses to this. He also accused certain individuals of trying to divert attention from other issues, mentioning a financial debt of 15 thousand euros, which he claims he owes.

This verbal clash has increased tensions on the eve of the next match, which will take place on Sunday in Peja. The former club has called for a sporting and spectacular atmosphere, while it remains to be seen whether the situation will calm down or whether it will also affect developments on the court.

At a time when the semi-final series is at its peak, attention remains not only on the result, but also on the message that athletes and clubs convey to the public.
