The elected MP from the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Arian Tahiri, spoke about recent political developments and relations within the state leadership.
Tahiri expressed his belief that Prime Minister Albin Kurti and President Vjosa Osmani are not on the same political line, assessing that the cooperation between them will not continue in the future. According to him, Kurti will not support Osmani for other mandates or important state roles.
"In my opinion, Kurti and Osmani are not on the same page. I do not believe that Vjosa Osmani will be the one to go. Kurti will go to other personalities, where he extends his direct control," Tahiri declared for Blic.
He emphasized that in this situation, opposition parties, including PDK, must play their institutional and political role, offering serious alternatives for representing Kosovo in the international arena.
"We must play our role here, because there are men and women from the PDK and other parties, as well as non-party members, who represent the interests of Kosovo and would be a reliable address for internationals," he added.
Commenting on Prime Minister Kurti's approach to foreign policy, Tahiri assessed that the head of government has moved into another phase of his political needs, aiming, according to him, for complete control over the representation of the state.
"Kurti has moved to another level of needs. He now wants to monopolize the international arena on the issue of representing Kosovo. He wants to eliminate personalities and figures who can represent the state of Kosovo and all classes of citizens," said Tahiri.
