According to a study conducted by the Economist magazine, Switzerland is the richest nation among 178 countries examined, but only in one category.
This is because the Economist ranked each region based on three criteria, albinfo.ch reports.
While Switzerland is the richest in the GDP per person category (over CHF 84,404), it falls in the ranking to 5th place when GDP is adjusted for local living costs, as well as the hours that must be worked to achieve this level of income.
