One of the doctors who allegedly gave ketamine to famous actor Matthew Perry shortly before his death has pleaded guilty.
Federal prosecutors in the United States have announced that Dr. Salvador Plasencia of California is expected to plead guilty to four charges. They are about 'unlawful distribution of ketamine,' an anesthetic substance that is also used to treat depression, but which in high doses can be fatal.

Meanwhile, we recall that the actor of the legendary series "Friends", known for his role as Chandler Bing, was found dead in October 2023 in the bathtub of his home in Los Angeles. He was 54 years old and had spoken openly about his struggle with addiction and depression.
The investigation uncovered a network of distributors and doctors who supplied Perry with ketamine. Documents show that Plasencia injected the actor himself, at home and in the Long Beach Aquarium parking lot, and instructed his assistant on how to use it. He also sold additional vials for home use.
In wiretaps between him and another doctor who has pleaded guilty, Dr. Mark Chavez, Plasencia called the actor an "idiot" and asked how much money he would be willing to pay for the drugs.
While Perry had a legal prescription for ketamine for medical treatment, prosecutors say he sought larger amounts than authorized. In just two weeks, from September 30 to October 12, 2023, Dr. Plasencia sold the actor and his assistant 20 vials of ketamine and several syringes.
The doctor's lawyers have not yet made any public comment on the case. In the meantime, investigations continue for all persons involved in this illegal network.
