Lawyer Vjosa Shkodra, on T7's "Tempus" show, expressed her opinion that punitive policies and the reasoning behind verdicts affect the delay of the judicial process.
"These policies of punitiveness and the reasoning of the verdicts, in my opinion, are affecting the delay of the process, because it is understood that the defense always finds room to object in higher instances," said Shkodra.
She also added that cases where the parties fail to understand how the court reached its decision affect their trust in the justice system and delay the procedure.
"This affects the party's trust in the system, and also affects the delay of the procedure, because of course we as defense attorneys always find spaces where we can attack a decision, then the case goes to the Appeals, it goes back to retrial for better reasoning, and in fact this is one of the reasons why I consider that we are in this situation," said Shkodra.
