Hamideh Soleimani Afshar, the granddaughter of Iranian General Qasem Soleimani, who was recently arrested in Los Angeles by ICE, had previously obtained a restraining order against her ex-partner, Zarea Mandani, following allegations of stalking and harassment. Soleimani Afshar was placed under a five-year restraining order after allegedly harassing Mandani at his home and workplace in 2024.
When it was announced that she had been arrested by ICE, Mandani reacted strongly, saying: “Thank God. That’s good. She’s a stalker. She’s a crazy woman. Thank God she was arrested and she’s going to be deported. She’s not a normal person.” He added that he had sued her twice, saying the situation had caused him a lot of stress and problems. “It’s caused me a lot of headaches. I politely asked her to leave me alone and blocked her, but she wouldn’t listen,” he said.
Mandani also said they met at a party. In court documents, he described her as his “ex-girlfriend,” but later claimed to the New York Post that their relationship was just a friendship. In court, Mandani said she had emotionally abused him, harassed him, called him constantly, obstructed his movements, interfered with his work, and even threatened to harm him. Meanwhile, ICE arrested Hamideh Soleimani Afshar and her daughter, Sarinasadat Hosseiny, after their green cards were revoked because of alleged ties to Iran.
