The Head of the Agency for Sports at the MCYS, Fidan Shatri, said that the Assembly's proceedings went according to the predetermined agenda and with full participation of delegates, reports Ekonomia Online.
"The Assembly's proceedings were based on the agenda that was determined by the Assembly itself, and I think that the participation of the delegates in this case was also seen, as was the process that went as it did, as you saw," he said.
Shatri added that comments and prior agreements with UEFA and FIFA have helped include important issues in the Federation's acts.
"The comments were related to UEFA and FIFA, which based on what you have seen. We have previously met with representatives of UEFA and FIFA and have agreed on many issues that will be included in the acts of the Football Federation in the near future," he said.
He stressed that the participation of clubs and delegates was fully in accordance with the rules and that all decisions were made based on the agenda.
"But if the clubs themselves, the participants, all the clubs are for the process as they have the independent freedom of functioning, I think we have nothing to say. So, with the participation of 52 members, as many delegates as were present, everyone voted for everything based on the agenda that was foreseen," he said.
Shatri emphasized the obligation of institutions to monitor the legality of sports federation assemblies, without interfering in elections.
"We have an obligation to participate in all federation assemblies that are held. So, we are called to see the regulations, protect the law, which sports federations function and which are licensed. So, it does not mean that participation legitimizes or does not legitimize an assembly of a sports federation. So, I said that our obligation is to be closely involved and monitor every process that has been, and was, in the FFK Assembly," he said.
He emphasized that the Ministry does not elect the bodies or heads of the federation and that the goal is only to protect legality and raise the level of the sports system in the country.
"In the context of the article, it was an intervention, but in reality it is not an intervention because the Ministry neither elects the bodies of the federation, nor elects the presidents of the federation. So, we are here to protect legality or to be here so that sports organizations work in accordance with the legality that we currently have in our country. So the issue of communications between UEFA and FIFA has not only happened now. We have had communications before and especially we will have from now on. So, it is not that we interfere in any organization. I believe that in recent years, apart from the great financial support that has increased for the federations, we have not had to do such a thing. And the process of changing the regulations, so it is the new Law on Sports that is in force in 2024, so the institution itself has started from itself with new regulations. So this will also extend to the entire sports system. If we create a sports system, we can raise the level and have more successes, especially in the sports side," he said. him.
