A dramatic showdown in the mixed martial arts (MMA) arena at "MBW Park", Munich, Germany, was accompanied by a serious incident where Albanian athlete Arijan Topallaj lost consciousness during his match with Irishman Denis Frimpong.
Frimpong dominated the challenge and managed to close it with a technical knockout in the third round, at the 44th second.
According to official statistics, Topallaj received around 100 blows, while delivering only 53, surrendering due to fatigue and constant pressure, writes tch.
Footage from the scene shows the harrowing moment when Topallaj was taken out of the cage on a stretcher and immediately taken to the hospital.
Fortunately, according to sources close to the organizers, his condition has stabilized and he is out of danger.
Topallaj then made a reaction on social media, writing: “Thanks be to Allah for everything. What a crazy sport I do, but I love this thing with all my heart. Even though the evening didn’t go as planned, one thing I can say with a pure heart: I left everything in the cage. Since the second round, my body didn’t listen to me anymore. It physically broke. I don’t know at the end of the day why this happened, but one thing I do know: I gave everything in preparation and in the fight. Sometimes it’s just inexplicable – why, for what, from what. But God has bigger plans than we can ever understand. Thank you to my team, my brothers, my family and each of you who stand behind me.
