A 38-year-old man has been arrested in Vlora after being declared an internationally wanted person by Italy. Adjol Kushtaj has been sentenced to 10 years in prison in Italy by the Florence Court of Appeal for cannabis cultivation, production and possession of narcotics, and drug trafficking committed in collaboration. Kushtaj has been provisionally arrested and will be extradited to Italy.

Vlora Police Announcement:

The police operation codenamed "Ombra" is being finalized, to capture a citizen declared internationally wanted, on behalf of Italy. Sentenced by Italian authorities to 10 years in prison, for criminal activity in the field of narcotics, the 38-year-old, declared internationally wanted, with the aim of extradition to Italy, is located and arrested.

The Narcotics Investigation Section, in cooperation with the Operational Section at the Vlora Police Department, in continuation of the work to locate and capture internationally wanted citizens, based on the information provided and in cooperation with the corresponding Interpol offices, organized and finalized the police operation codenamed "Ombra".

As a result, in the "Kushtrimi" neighborhood, the capture and provisional arrest, with the aim of extradition to Italy, of the citizen:

* Adjol Kushtaj, 38 years old, resident of Vlora. This citizen was declared internationally wanted, after the Court of Appeal of Florence, Italy, with the decision dated 23.11.2023, sentenced him to 10 years in prison, for the criminal offenses "Cultivation of narcotic plants", "Production, possession and sale of narcotics", "Trafficking in narcotics" and "Crime committed in collaboration", according to the Italian Criminal Legislation and the Law on Narcotics. Interpol Tirana and Interpol Rome continue to cooperate on further extradition procedures.
