Pristina, February 17, 2026

Today we celebrate the 18th anniversary of the Independence of our Republic. It is a day of joy and reflection. Sunday, February 17, 2008 came thanks to the sacrifice and contribution of many generations.

We humbly remember those who fell for the freedom we enjoy today.

We were fortunate to have, in difficult days, the historic president, Ibrahim Rugova, as our leader, as well as the legendary war hero, Adem Jashari.

In these years of freedom, the achievements are undeniable and we should all be proud of this. However, our statehood and statehood should not stop there. Much work, dedication and responsibility are still needed for the state of Kosovo to take its deserved place among free, sovereign and democratic states.

This is also a day that makes us look more responsibly at public commitments, which must be built on the values of understanding, tolerance, and permanent cooperation.

Congratulations on this auspicious day are congratulations for a free and developed Kosovo, prosperous and contributing to the good of its citizens and human kindness.
