The Ferrari in which Formula 1 legend Michael Schumacher won the Monaco Grand Prix in 2001 has been sold at auction for 15.98 million euros.
In addition to the victory in Monte Carlo, Schumacher also drove this F2001 in the Hungarian Grand Prix, where he secured his fourth title out of a total of seven world championships won in his career.
The car was sold by auction house RM Sotheby's just before qualifying for this year's Monaco Grand Prix, becoming the most expensive car ever driven by Schumacher to be sold at auction.
This Ferrari is also the fourth most expensive Formula 1 car ever sold. The world record for the most expensive car is held by a Mercedes 'streamliner' that was driven by legends Sir Stirling Moss and Juan Manuel Fangio, which sold for £42.75 million in February.
Previously, the record for the most expensive car driven by Schumacher was £9.75 million - a Ferrari F2003 sold in 2002.
Ferrari will be hoping to repeat Schumacher's success in Monte Carlo this weekend, with Charles Leclerc starting from second place in Sunday's race, behind McLaren driver Lando Norris.
