A report commissioned by Milan and Inter reveals that more than 90% of the iconic Stadio Meazza, including the towers and the first and third stands, will be demolished to make way for the new stadium, co-owned by the two clubs.

This follows the clubs' recent agreement to buy the San Siro site in north-west Milan, with a price set by the Revenue Agency at €197m.

How much will be destroyed and what will be preserved?

The final report on the negotiation, drafted by professors Alessandra Oppino and Giacomo Morri from Politecnico and Bocconi University, clarifies the technical details:

First stand: entire (13,714 m³)

Third stand: entire (10,312 m³)

Towers: entire (26,060 m³)

Second stand: 80% to be demolished, 20% preserved (8,247 m³)

Total volume collapsed: approximately 91,382 m³, or 91% of the stadium, while 9,072 m³ will be preserved.

What will the new stadium include?

The clubs have not yet released visualizations, but a descriptive project document indicates that the new stadium will be integrated with commercial and tourist functions:

43,000 m² for offices

20,000 m² for four-star hotels, each with 350 rooms

15,000 m² for parking

The space will also include shops, restaurants and the Milan and Inter museums.

Tickets for the museum will cost 38 euros, with an expected 450,000 visitors per year.

Economic impact of the project

Milan and Inter claim that the new stadium will bring a turnover of 900 million euros per year to the San Siro area and will have a positive economic impact of approximately 3 billion euros for the city of Milan and the surrounding area.

The project is expected to turn one of the most iconic areas of Italian football into a modern sports and tourist complex, combining history with innovation. /GazetaExpress/
