Manchester United are interested in Julian Ryerson, according to Sky. However, it remains unclear whether this interest will translate into a concrete offer, as it all depends on a number of factors.

If there is to be a serious move, Borussia Dortmund are expected to demand at least 30 million euros for the Norwegian defender, who has a contract with the club until 2028.

Ryerson has been one of Dortmund's most prolific players this season. He has provided 18 assists in all competitions, including 15 in the Bundesliga. In the German league, only Bayern Munich stars Michael Oliseh and Luis Díaz have been better at this.

Asked last weekend about rumors surrounding his future, Ryerson reacted with irony to a reporter.

"You're very smart, aren't you? You know more than I do. I have a two-year contract here, so I'm not thinking about it at all," he said.

Even Dortmund's sporting director had previously dismissed these speculations, calling them "complete nonsense."

Ryerson has also been mentioned as an option for Barcelona. Last December, according to Sky television, the Catalan club and the Norwegian defender, who has 41 caps for the national team, had already held talks.

The Spanish champions are reportedly looking for an affordable alternative to Jules Koundé. At the time, it was suggested that Ryerson could leave Dortmund if the German club's offer was attractive enough.

However, speculation about his future has changed several times. Contrary to previous reports, it was said in February that the Premier League is not Ryerson's preferred destination if he leaves Dortmund. It is said that the Italian Serie A is more attractive.

England and Spain have been mentioned as options, but a move to the Premier League would only become realistic if a major club were to urgently need short-term cover due to injuries. For this reason, the Italian league is seen as a more realistic and perhaps more attractive destination for the Norwegian, although no specific club has been mentioned so far.

Ryerson joined Dortmund from Union Berlin in January 2023 for around five million euros and has quickly settled into the starting lineup. He is valued for his versatility, as he can play on both sides of the defense.

So far, Ryerson has played 143 official matches for Borussia Dortmund, scoring seven goals and providing 24 assists. /GazetaExpress/
