Katia Aveiro, Cristiano Ronaldo's sister, has reacted with a powerful emotional message after the media noise and criticism that have erupted online after the breakup.Ronaldo's funeral at the funeral of Diogo Jota and his brother, Andre Silva.

In a lengthy post, Katia recalled the deep pain her family experienced in 2005, following the death of their father, José Dinis Aveiro. She said that, in addition to the pain, they were forced to cope with a flood of cameras and curious people that made that dark period even more difficult.

"When my father died, in addition to the pain, we had to deal with a flood of cameras and curious onlookers, in the cemetery and wherever we went. And the attention was not what it is today, in terms of access. At no point were we children able to leave the church. This was only possible at the time of the funeral, so great was the chaos," Katia wrote.

She recalls that the funeral ceremony was attended by well-known personalities, such as presidents and coaches of the Portuguese national team, including Luiz Felipe Scolari, but that due to the emotional shock, she was unable to perceive anything around her: "The pain blinded me," she writes.

But at the heart of her response was criticism of those who have judged Ronaldo's absence from Jota's funeral. According to her, society is showing a worrying level of lack of empathy and blind fanaticism.

“It's getting tiresome. Fanaticism. Criticism for nothing, I repeat, for nothing. Sick society. We all have families. It's absurdly shameful to watch TV channels, commentators, social networks, highlighting a (wise) absence, instead of respectfully honoring the pain of a family devastated by the loss of two brothers. I'm even ashamed to watch them. It's a pity.”
