Vladimir Putin has said he thinks the war in Ukraine is nearing an end.
Putin's comments came just hours after he promised victory in Ukraine during the most scaled-down Victory Day parade in Moscow in recent years. Reuters.
"I think this matter is coming to an end," Putin told reporters of the Russia-Ukraine war, the deadliest conflict in Europe since World War II.
He also said he would be willing to negotiate new security agreements for Europe and that his preferred negotiating partner would be former German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder.
