Many areas of Albania are in an alarming state due to fires.
This is what Top Channel reports.
The most serious situation is in Delvina and Gramsh.
The situation in Delvina has become critical as flames have come dangerously close to the city hospital. Top Channel correspondent Kristina Fidhi reports that the fire has surrounded the city from the north and east, forcing the police to evacuate residents from the two upper neighborhoods. Its dimensions are considered extraordinary, while aerial intervention was not possible during the night. It is suspected that several apartments may have been engulfed by the flames, but at the moment it is difficult to assess the damage due to the thick smoke and limited access to the ground.
Top Channel journalist Bruna Kërçyku reports that there are injured residents, but firefighters were unable to go due to the smoke.
The entire village of Skënderbegas will be evacuated, while many residents, amidst tears for their homes that are burning, refuse to leave.
The situation in Delvina continues to be critical, as the fire has engulfed large areas and is dangerously close to the city hospital.
It is reported that the police have evacuated the residents of the Llakë, Mukurs and Xhermëhallë neighborhoods, where women, children and the elderly have left their homes, while the men have remained to help extinguish the fire along with firefighters and emergency workers.
The city is currently without electricity, making it more difficult to manage the emergency situation. Hospital patients have been sheltered in the city's cinema for safety reasons.
