A rescue diver has died while searching for the bodies of four Italians who died in a diving accident in the Maldives.
Sergeant Mohamed Mahdhee was taken to hospital in a critical condition after being submerged as part of a search and rescue operation and later died from his injuries, a government spokesman told the BBC on Saturday.
The accident resulted in the deaths of five Italians, who were trying to explore caves at a depth of about 50 meters.
So far, only one of the bodies is believed to have been found, in a cave about 60 meters deep.
