The Ministry of Justice held a constitutive meeting of the working group for electoral legislation reforms today, which will be chaired by the Minister of Justice, Igor Fillkov. The meeting, as reported by the Ministry, discussed the Rules of Procedure and the working method of the working group.
The next meeting of the working group for electoral legislation reforms is scheduled for March 23, while the members of the working group will be presented with the text of the amendments to the Electoral Code, which will be a working document and was prepared by the Ministry of Justice in June 2025 and which includes OSCE/ODIHR recommendations.
Minister of Justice Igor Fillkov stated that the goal is to build a sustainable, credible and inclusive electoral system, harmonized with European standards and international good practices.
"This process requires political maturity, dialogue and consensus. I expect constructive debate and active participation from all members, because reforms in electoral legislation are of fundamental importance for the democratic development of the country and strengthening citizens' trust in the electoral process," Fillkov emphasized.
They emphasize that the Ministry of Justice remains fully committed to a transparent and efficient process, with clear dynamics and concrete results in the coming period.
