Real Madrid said goodbye to the Champions League after being defeated by Bayern Munich in Munich last Wednesday.
Despite the elimination, UEFA has fined the Madrid club - not for the match at the Allianz Arena, but for the one held a week earlier at the Santiago Bernabéu.
UEFA has announced sanctions for several clubs following last week's European competition matches, and Real Madrid is among them.
The "royal" club has been fined 20.000 euros for delaying the start of the match held at the "Bernabéu" against Bayern Munich. Arsenal and coach Mikel Arteta have also been punished for the same reason, however in their case it is only a warning and not a fine.
In addition to Real Madrid, Athletic Club has also been fined 16.875 euros by UEFA for throwing objects in the match held at "San Mamés", which ended in a 2-3 loss for the Basque team.
