There is little doubt that Real Madrid will be forced to return to the transfer market this summer, after a season that is looking disappointing at the Bernabéu. The positions that the club wants to strengthen have long been clear, but there is more uncertainty about the names that will be targeted.
Los Blancos had already identified central midfield and central defense as two areas they want to strengthen under Xabi Alonso.
Now "Onda Cero" has revealed that Real Madrid are hoping to transfer two players for a total of around 100 million euros.
Other transfers will depend in part on the income the club will generate from player sales.
There have also been suggestions that Real Madrid could sign a second central defender, as both David Alaba and Antonio Rüdiger could leave in the summer.
In recent weeks it has been reported that Manchester City midfielder Rodri Hernández is being closely monitored to see how his recovery from a cruciate ligament injury is going.
The 29-year-old has a contract until 2027 and has long been a target for Real Madrid, but any attempt to sign him last summer was postponed due to injury problems.
Meanwhile, in defense, it seems that the first choice is Nico Schlotterbeck.
The German defender, who plays for Borussia Dortmund, also has a contract until 2027 and, despite the German club's desire to renew the deal, he has so far postponed talks over a new contract.
Reports in Germany insist that Real Madrid's interest is very real and that Schlotterbeck is very attracted to the idea of joining Los Blancos.
As an alternative, Real Madrid have also been linked with Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konaté.
The Frenchman is out of contract this summer and has yet to decide his future at Anfield./Express newspaper/
